Apple Caramel Pancakes

It's here.....it's here......

I am so excited.....THE IMPROV COOKING CHALLENGE hosted by Lady Behind The Curtain is finally here.

The Improve Cooking Challenge

Every month lovely Sheryl from Lady Behind The Curtain comes up with two ingredients we are suppose to use in a recipe.

October challenge was APPLES and CARAMEL.....how perfectly fitting....

I was racking my brain...... thinking what to cook or bake.....I wanted to be something brand new.....something I never done.

Suddenly "Mom, what's for breakfast?" gave me the idea....APPLE CARAMEL PANCAKES

PRINTABLE VERSION:

Ingredients:
  • Pancake Batter (prepared using your favorite recipe or mix)
  • Apples (thinly sliced )
  • Caramel Sauce (homemade or bought)
  • Cinnamon
  • Whipped Cream
STEP 1: Prepare your pancake batter. I usually make pancakes using this recipe.

STEP 2: Heat your skillet on medium heat and pour about 1/4 cup of pancake batter per pancake into skillet.

STEP 3: Cook for about 1 minute then swirl caramel sauce around the pancake. Place thin apple slices around, sprinkle with cinnamon and cook another minute.

STEP 4: Flip the pancake and cook for one more minute on the other side.

STEP 5: Remove from skillet and keep Apple Caramel pancakes warm until you are done.

STEP 6: Serve Apple Caramel pancakes drizzled with more caramel sauce and whipped cream (optional).

I can't wait to check all of the other Apple and Caramel recipes.....make sure you visit some (or all) of the challenge participants....and if you would like to be a part of this awesome challenge just contact Sheryl - The Lady Behind The Curtain and get on board.
